My Goal
My goal as a naturopathic doctor is to be a teacher, a guide, a resource, and a witness to the great healing that can be accomplished when desires align with knowledge and truths. There are answers and resources for you; let's find them together.
Areas of Focus
I love balancing and supporting natural hormone rhythms for both women and men. The unique stories of our endocrine, Immune, and neurological health and development from birth through aging is of immense interest to me. I believe that when we feel amazing on the inside beauty radiates outward to the world and inspires everyone. We can look and feel amazing at every age!
Philosophy
We all have a unique story. Our minds, our physiology, the way we express our love and pain are all very individual. Our genetic makeup, past experiences, future aspirations, and longings of the soul within are all a unique expression of who we are and what we are becoming. Seeking well-being and wholeness is a journey of self-discovery. Walking even a piece of that road with you is a true honor for me.
Together we can learn, share wisdom, inspire one another, and embrace life as we work to correct imbalances, remove obstacles for healing, and establish the foundations of wellness. There are no limits.
Education
I earned a BS degree in Microbiology/pre-med from Brigham Young University, Utah. During my undergrad, I worked in various medical positions as a home health aid, certified nursing assistant, and medical assistant. It was during this time that I learned two things: I did not want to go to conventional allopathic medical school, and yet I love helping those who were sick and in need.
My informal medical training ramped up during the birthing and raising of 5 amazing children. My children have taught me so much about joy, sacrifice, and learning how to heal a ton of boo-boos.
In 2013, I entered Bastyr University in California because it was known as the leading accredited institution for science-based natural medicine.
Through medical school, I was supported by my loving husband and children. I couldn't have gone through it without them cheering me to the finish line. I graduated from Bastyr University with my Naturopathic Medical Doctorate in 2018.
My Story
Growing up on a small farm in an agricultural community allowed my childhood curiosity to have plenty of space to grow. I learned at a young age how the seasons created rhythms of planting and sowing, birthing, growing, and such beautiful aging. Love of nature, creation, and hard work have become a part of me.
As a mother, I have a deep appreciation and respect for the dynamic and changing health care needs of families. The impact of an individual's health has profound effects on their family and community. I believe we can help heal past and future generations as we each heal individually.
